1. Who we are

RentThisApp operates a software-as-a-service platform for equipment rental and service businesses. References to "we," "us," and "our" mean RentThisApp. Contact: support@rentthisapp.com.

2. What information we collect

• Account data. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from Google. If you create an account directly, we collect the email address and password you provide.
• Business data you enter. Customer records, jobs, rentals, invoices, addresses, asset and vehicle information, and any other operational data you choose to store in the platform.
• Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card numbers or banking details. We retain a record of subscription status, charges, and refunds.
• Operational data. Server logs, usage analytics (via Vercel Analytics), and error reports (via Sentry). This includes request paths, IP address, user agent, and approximate location derived from IP.
• Communications. Messages you send to support, and SMS or email delivery metadata for messages we send on your behalf.

3. How we use it

We use the information described above to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the service.
• Authenticate users and protect accounts.
• Process subscription payments and apply refunds.
• Send operational messages (account, billing, security, service updates).
• Respond to support requests.
• Investigate and prevent abuse, fraud, and violations of our terms.

We do not use information collected through the service for advertising or marketing personalization.

4. Google user data

We access your Google account information solely to create your account, authenticate you, and display your identity in the app. Specifically, we receive your name, email address, and profile image. We do not use Google user data for advertising. We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide and improve the service, comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We do not allow humans to read your Google user data unless we have your consent, it is necessary to investigate abuse or comply with law, or the data has been aggregated and anonymized.

5. SMS and email messages

The platform may send operational SMS and email messages to your customers on your behalf, including booking confirmations, delivery and pickup updates, reminders, invoice and payment notices, and support communications. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS without separate consent. Standard message and data rates may apply. Recipients can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP. Email recipients can unsubscribe via the link in each message.

6. Sharing

We do not sell or share personal information for advertising or commercial purposes. We share information with the following categories of service providers, only as necessary to operate the service:

• Stripe — payment processing.
• Twilio — SMS delivery.
• Resend — email delivery.
• Supabase — database hosting.
• Vercel — application hosting and analytics.
• Sentry — error tracking.

We may disclose information to comply with legal process, protect our rights or the rights of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will provide notice on this page before personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

7. Data retention and deletion

We retain account and business data for as long as your account is active. Tenants may request deletion of their account and associated business data by emailing support@rentthisapp.com. We retain certain records as required by law, for fraud prevention, and to enforce our agreements.

8. Your rights

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have rights with respect to their personal information, which may include the right to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@rentthisapp.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

9. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

RentThisApp does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is currently nothing for you to opt out of. This section exists to comply with state-law requirements that this disclosure be present, and to provide a single, plainly-titled location you can point to if asked.

10. Children

The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact support@rentthisapp.com.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the date of the most recent change. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice before the change takes effect.
